Anyone concerned about student demand in Brisbane with the existing influx of student accommodation development needn’t be. Numerous reports have come out showing there are years of growth in the student accommodation market before we reach anything approaching excessive supply and a cursory search online will show scores of students looking for accommodation.
Our rental figures continue to reflect this, with 2016 being another strong year at Hive Student Accommodation. Catchment areas around QUT and UQ such as Kelvin Grove, St Lucia and Taringa performed strongly while market demand around Griffith University was somewhat down on 2015.
We posted record occupancy rates across the portfolio for the 2015/2016 year. Overall for the year we achieved average occupancy of 50.37 weeks or 97.87%, a figure the Hive team are very proud of.
